THE PROJECT

Our customer, HTT, a Canadian supercar manufacturer, teamed up with Creaform Engineering Services team to accelerate the product development of its Plethore model. Having already designed and handcrafted its first prototype, HTT wanted to take its product to a production level for larger volumes and consistent quality. The idea was to create a 3D model of the vehicle so that HTT would be able to reproduce exactly the same components in the future as well as outsource the manufacturing of certain components.

Creaform was mandated to scan various components of the vehicle in 3D, including all body panels, and then convert them into highly accurate, symmetrical 3D models and perfectly aesthetic shapes via reverse engineering tools.

In the transportation industry, all visible components have to be visually perfect. That is why Class A surfaces were created for all body panels. As the vehicle has an aggressive look with sharp styling, this required a solid expertise in advanced surface modeling—all while keeping in mind the manufacturability of the panels.
